REVIEW: HOW I bUILT THIS
As part of TSMGI's recurring Newsletter series, "Our Favorites," Director of Communications, David Zlotnik, reviews NPR's "How I Built This."
Do you ever wonder why a product, service, or brand becomes a success? Or how a new product gets its name? Or what drives an entrepreneur to persevere? If you’ve ever asked yourself any of these questions then you should listen to the “How I Built This (HIBT)” series of podcasts from NPR. HIBT features entrepreneurs on their journeys from product idea and follows them to market. Many of the successful businesses featured grew out of a person’s passion for a specific idea or category or filled an unmet need for consumers. This podcast series is hosted by NPR’s Guy Raz who is also the co-creator and editorial director. Many of the discussion are conducted in front of a live audience, providing the listener with a front row seat to some of businesses’ most successful stories. You can hear dozens of success stories with interviews dating back to 2017. HIBT has been downloaded by more than 10 million listeners. Some of my favorites included Stacy Madison from Stacy’s Pita Chips and James Dyson tell the story of Dyson products.
